GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This individual is responsible and accountable for all Pharmacy activities, to include leadership for daily operations, coordination of work, quality and service, strategic planning and supervision of Pharmacy manager. This individual is responsible for all aspects of pharmacy services within Hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY, PC.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

• Director of Pharmacy Services will oversee a staff including the Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Technicians.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.  
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds.  
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  
• Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.  
• Requires potential exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

Job Summary:

• This individual is responsible for organizing, directing, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of pharmacy services within hematology-Oncology Associates of CNY, PC. 
• This individual oversees or prepares (compounds) commercially available and investigational antineoplastic drugs; assesses medication orders; assists with patient care activities including planning and implementing antineoplastic and antiemetic drug regimens; monitors patients’ response to drug therapy and fluid and pain control medications; recommends changes or alternative therapy; compounds and dispenses medication; provides drug related information

Experience:

• Five years of related experience

Certificate/License: 

• NYS pharmacist license required
