The Boeing Company's Indirect Supply Chain (ISC) organization is currently seeking an Experienced Strategic Sourcing and Contracting Specialist to join our Warehousing and Transportation team. This position may be based in Mesa, AZ; Everett, WASeattle, WAHazelwood, MOEnglewood, CONorth Charleston, SC; or Wichita, KS.

As a Strategic Sourcing and Contracting Specialist, this role will represent multiple stakeholder groups and take ownership of end-to-end procurement activities including, but not limited to, early engagement with stakeholders, sourcing strategy development, RFP authoring, proposal analysis, terms and conditions negotiation, and purchase orders. Strong knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, experience in supplier negotiations, and an established record of managing supplier relationships with mutually beneficial outcomes will be critical to success. Process-mapping and introducing procurement best-practices will be a key element of the role. Focus areas will include all modes of transportation (air, ocean, road, parcel, rail) as well as 3PL storage facilities. Indirect Supply Chain Logistics is a multi-dimensional organization where you will work with peers, colleagues, and executives in other functions on exciting sourcing and contract management initiatives. In this role, you will have the following responsibilities related to Logistics services, transportation and customs brokerage.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build and sustain stakeholder and supplier relationships both in-person and remotely

  • Facilitate dialogue to refine business requirements and support category strategy development

  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, performance, and market offerings for informed sourcing decisions

  • Develop and negotiate long-term agreements and strategic contracts that satisfy customer needs

  • Oversee stakeholder engagement and contract lifecycle management for compliance and performance

  • Recommend and implement supply chain process improvements to enhance efficiency

  • Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and develop strategic implementation plans

  • Ability to travel 25-50% of the time if located outside of Wichita, KS

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or contracts

  • 1+ years of experience in logistics (procurement, operations, strategy)

  • 1+ years of project management experience

  • 1+ years of experience in a role that required strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience negotiating, interpreting, and editing terms and conditions leveraging the support of a contracts team

  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with logistics suppliers and negotiating logistics contracts

  • 3+ years of experience implementing process and/or strategy improvements

  • Project leadership skills and the ability to build positive working relationships

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, frequently leveraged when presenting to all levels of an organization
