About the role

Essential Functions* of the position are detailed below and include any physical requirements checked below:
1. Manages the daily operations of a Senior Center in collaboration with either the Chicago Department on Aging (CDOA), Age Options, and the Village of Grayslake depending on the location of assigned site
2. Complies with agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, external requirements of all relevant regulatory licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations
3. Provides residents of the building and the seniors in the community with a wide variety of social, recreational, informational, advocacy, and coordinates for external partners to come in and screen them for senior benefits
4. Plans and implements a variety of programs to help promote the mental stimulation of seniors, including leading interactive activities, classes, trips, and parties
5. In collaboration with the congregate meals, provider is responsible for ordering meals for participants to ensure they are served a hot lunch daily
6. Works collaboratively with the building's Senior Service Coordinator to promote senior socialization, as needed
7. Provides seniors with the opportunity to interact with community leaders regarding relevant issues
8. Maintains up-to-date and accurate client files and databases, as required by agency/programmatic policies and procedures, professional standards, and external requirements of all relevant regulatory licensing or accrediting bodies in the course of performing job expectations
9. Responsible for data entry and for compiling, updating, and submitting routine and ad-hoc reports, as necessary
10. Position requires ability to work evening and weekend hours

Education and Experience Requirements:

Relevant Education:

Certification/Licensure:
Preferred: Food Service & Sanitation Certificate
Minimum: Food Service & Sanitation Certificate
