Staff Accountant

Job Description:

Salad & Go is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will focus on cash accounting, accounts receivable, revenue, and travel & entertainment (T&E) expense accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Accounting

• Record and reconcile daily cash transactions across multiple bank accounts.

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. · Prepare weekly cash tracking report for upper management.

• Review and approve Positive Pay exceptions.

Accounts Receivable & Revenue Accounting

• Perform daily point of sale (POS) system to cash collected reconciliation within FloQast.

• Investigate large POS to cash variances.

• Prepare monthly accounts receivable reconciliations utilizing FloQast.

• Prepare monthly revenue reconciliation.

• Manage POS system to Workday integration and work with IT when variances are discovered.

• Prepare monthly unearned revenue reconciliation.

• Prepare and file monthly sales tax filings.

Travel & Entertainment (T&E) expense Accounting

• Issue credit cards to team members as requests come through on as needed basis.

• Answer team members questions on filling out expense reports as questions arise on as needed basis.

• Prepare weekly expense report for Accounting Credit Card.

• Prepare monthly T&E expense accruals during close process.

• Prepare monthly reconciliation of T&E payable accounts.

General Ledger & Ad Hoc Responsibilities

• Prepare and post various journal entries during month-end close process.

• Perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and variance analysis.

• Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests from management.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial data.

• Participate in process improvement initiatives and SOP development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

• Workday Financials experience is a plus

• 1 to 2 years of experience in accounting required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize work effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
