Director of Client Data Strategy

The Director of Client Strategy reports to the SVP of IT and works closely with our clients, the Data Engineering, Data Operations, and Data Reporting teams to oversee the creation of the business requirements and data mapping to fully document new and existing technical requirements in a pre-defined format that is usable by both technical and non-technical staff. They will work with the appropriate stakeholders to gather requirements and directly work with teams and clients to ensure the usability of the documentation.
The successful candidate will have proven working experience in data analysis and client requirements gathering. They will have a thorough understanding of Data Governance strategies and principles. They will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills in order to understand stakeholder needs (internal and external) and recommend optimal solutions. The ability to build strong collaborative relationships is key. The successful candidate will need to be organized with good attention to detail and strong at multitasking.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Data Governance leadership through overseeing documentation practices and leading client data discovery efforts.
- Data Governance Guidance through the identification of all data sources, formats, storage, and usage.
- Validate requirements by cross-referencing them with other stakeholders to get buy-in. It’s important to achieve a consensus against the business objective.
- Analyze and interpret client requirements for their viability against the business objective.
- Document requirements by creating use cases, functional and requirement specifications documents.
- Document data attributes including all transformed data and data attributes and how those attributes should be applied for business purposes.
EDUCATION, SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of experience in the field or in a related area is preferred.
- 2-4 years’ experience managing direct response or marketing campaign data, preferred but not required.
- Experience working multiple constituents transforming verbal and technical communication into written requirements is preferred.
- Prior Data Governance experience a plus.
Position is Remote. Core working hours are generally central time zone but flexibility to adjust to accommodate Eastern or Pacific is needed on occasion. Minimal travel to in-person workshops or client data on-boarding sessions may be required.

The position level and compensation for this role will be determined based on the experience and qualifications of the candidates.
