About the role
As a Utility Maintenance, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of utility systems within the organization. Your duties may include but are not limited to address tenant reactive / requested repairs and services and basic work orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- opens facilities and raises / lowers flags as required
- support client key personnel – daily communication and ensure safe, clean and comfortable learning environments - facilitate the channels of communication between ABM and the school’s (headmaster, administration and staff)
- complete building safety, maintenance, and maintain boiler/chiller logs if applicable.
- Performs minor painting and cosmetic touch ups
- submit/monitor status/maintain records of maintenance work orders via School Dude
- perform maintenance and repairs to equipment and fixtures (including sinks, urinals, toilets, partitions) and interior finishes
- moves furniture and helps with event set up and take down
- install equipment (like pencil sharpeners, dispensers, bulletin boards etc.)
- move, assemble furniture and or equipment
- change out ceiling tiles
- change out light bulbs including interior / exterior general, security and emergency fixtures
- assists in preventative maintenance to unitary ventilation devices including exhaust fans and simple air moving equipment – work to include coil vacuuming, sanitizing and filter changes
- performs special needs and emergency cleaning – support the custodial workers,
- ensure custodial equipment operational readiness and adequate supplies inventory -maintain safety records/MSDS station associated with inventory.
- document service concerns (all disciplines) and communicate the concerns to the manager and or Principal
- assist with delivery of mail/supplies/material
- direct set-up/break-down in support of school functions and special events
- be familiar with and monitor alarm systems and assist in responses to fire drills and or actual emergencies as needed
- and other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in maintenance or utility operations preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to utility systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Customer Service Experience
- 1 yr of similar work experience
