Job Description

AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Engineer to join our Remediation team in our Latham, New York office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients. This is a hybrid role that requires 2 days per week in the AECOM office on a regular basis and possibly more frequently based upon project needs..

The candidate will join a large established team conducting environmental assessment and remediation projects across the New York Metropolitan area. This position requires organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a range of projects, and a positive attitude. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a project team.  This position offers career advancement paths into a Deputy Project Manager role if interested.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Undertake technical work in accordance with the contracted scope of work, budget, schedule and legislative standards.
  • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams within the Remediation department, and professionals across AECOM internal business lines.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings
  • Assist with development of junior staff through ongoing mentoring.
  • Field-based task oversight of environmental investigation and remediation programs. Field work may include soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, and remedial construction oversight including subcontractor management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Experience must be relevant to remediation investigations, contamination and fate of transport
  • Valid US Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Previous experience drafting plans, rep
