About the role

About your role
The Field Inspection Services department within Bureau Veritas Commodities deals with qualitative and quantitative cargo inspections. Due to the different commodities there is a large variety of products such as crude, oil, petrochemicals, gas, metals and minerals and agri products in various forms.

As a Medior/Senior Inspector you will perform these inspections in a professional and secure manner and in accordance with applicable safety, health, environmental and quality standards.

 

What you will do 

  • Some of your duties as an Inspector include:
  • Performing inspections on a variety of different products and within different divisions (Oil & Petrochemicals) on inland and ocean-going vessels, land tankers and barges;
  • Reporting the results of inspections in accordance with work instructions, guidelines, industry/standard standards, BV procedures and customer specific instructions;
  • Communicating clearly and regularly for the purpose of good cooperation with other departments (e.g. Laboratory and Customer Services);
  • Training and supervising (new) colleagues;
  • Performing Field Audits to monitor processes in consultation and cooperation with supervisor.

 

What do you bring
As a Medior/Senior Inspector you need knowledge of-and affinity for-the port and transportation industry. Furthermore, you are confident, performance-oriented and possess the right dose of discipline. We also expect the following:

  • Minimum MBO working and thinking level, preferably qualifications focused on (control) work in the port
  • Preferably at least 4 years of relevant work experience
  • Relevant certificates for inspection work
  • VCA VOL is an advantage
  • Ability to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct
  • Willing to work shifts including night shifts
  • A customer-oriented, commercial and professional attitude
  • Technical insight and good mathematical skills
  • Excellent command of the English language both verbally and in writing.
  • In possession of driving license B.
