About the role

Overview

The Sponsored Programs Office is looking for a motivated, dynamic, highly organized individual to join our team as a Proposal Analyst. The Proposal Analyst provides support for the development, review, and submission of proposals for externally funded grants, contracts, and other agreements across the University.

 

This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate centralized administrative and technical guidance and support to a diverse client set of USU faculty and staff seeking extramural funding for research and sponsored projects.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on proposal creation in Kuali and the proposal submission process.
  • Act as the Authorized Official on behalf of USU for proposal submission.
  • Assist in solving problems related to the submission of proposals and the creation of budgets within Kuali.
  • Perform work using various databases and electronic systems.
  • Engage in professional development and educational opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Work experience in a higher education setting.
  • Knowledge of federal requirements as it relates to sponsored projects.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with faculty and staff.
  • Ability to work independently, effectively, and efficiently under tight time constraints.

Advertised Salary

Minimum $45,000; commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits
