Bringing Home the Dough

Facilitates the coordination of activities relating to the warehouse’s daily operations. Ensures that warehouse is in compliance with all environmental, safety, sanitation and security programs in accordance with corporate and government regulations. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on product safety, legality and/or quality. Position requires constant interaction with work group and other departments at the primary work location.
 

Rising to the Challenge: Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for all product accountability for the warehouse
• Coordinates the receiving of bakery shipments and the staging of all sales orders behind route truck loading areas.
• Responsible for approving all claims, transfers, overages/shortages on a daily basis. Also the completion of a daily dock report to be emailed to the bakery VP of Operations, VP of Sales, Area Sales Directors, Distribution Manager and Manufacturing Manager.
• Checking all loads to ensure accuracy prior to the Independent Distributor’s arrival.
• Monitors quality of product being shipped. Makes sure that product is meeting Flowers and Tasty Bakeries standards is selected and staged.
• Oversees and supervises the working of warehouse shipping checkers
• Performs all other related assignments including assisting and training of other warehouse shipping checkers as required by supervision.
• Must be proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Also working knowledge of Lotus Notes as well as the Hand-Held Computers used by the company.
• Responsible for the repositioning of empty trays into orderly stacks and clean up of warehouse area, inside/outside.
• Oversees warehouse sanitation, security and general maintenance, including outside grounds, thrift stores, etc.
• Monitors warehouse conditions, inside/outside and conducts routine visual inspections to ensure facility remains in good condition and proper working order. Recommends any noted repairs or replacement to his supervisor.
• Maintains a warehouse maintenance/repair log for the purpose of providing documentation of standard maintenance/repairs and associated expenses.
• Maintains all required warehouse/thrift store licenses and permits in accordance with local regulatory and governmental agencies.
• Maintains log of all approved pest control vendor service visits. Make routine visual inspections of pest control vendor equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Makes routine visual inspections of trash dumpster to ensure area is kept clean and orderly as possible. Take all necessary steps to prevent unauthorized dumping from outside sources.
• Communicates to Area Sales Directors, Distribution Manager, VP of Sales, HR Business Partner and Environmental Safety and Security Manager all matters relative to their area of responsibility as they arise.    
• Position ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).    
• Perform other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
   

Knead to Know: Preferred Qualifications

• Six (6) or more months shipping or related experience.
• 2 – 5 years of route sales experience is a plus
