Job Description:

We are seeking TWO (2) Benefit & Eligibility Workers to join our Gresham Self Sufficiency Office and join our Eligibility Team.

You will work in the Gresham Branch assisting Oregonians in-person. This position is not remote.

What you need to qualify

  • Two years of experience determining eligibility for an agency program by interviewing to assess the needs of clients and interpreting and applying the policies, rules, and guidelines applicable to the client's situation.

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience relative to the class concept.

Essential attributes

Technical and soft skills that may help the candidate be successful in this role. We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience in a social/human services setting interviewing customers in person & by phone to obtain information to determine eligibility.

  • Successful experience communicating decisions regarding the approval or denial of benefits or services while delivering customer service that continually exceeds expectations.

  • Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining written documentation of activities concerning individual clients.

  • Experience researching, interpreting, and applying policies, rules, & regulations to work, while maintaining high accuracy completing detailed & technical work.

  • Experience accurately using basic mathematics in a work environment.
