Job Responsibilities and Requirements
The Communications Director, Retirement Services, is responsible for developing the internal and external communications strategy for the Retirement Services Business Unit. They will partner closely with the Retirement Services leadership team to develop and execute the strategy. The director will be responsible for all content creation to ensure consistency and execution of the strategy.
Communications Strategy
Develop and implement a comprehensive Internal Communication Strategy for the Retirement Services business segment.
Manage and support change communications across the business unit.
Develop and deploy executive messaging via internal and external channels.
Coordinate and execute communications events both in person and virtually.
Internal and External Communications
Partner with Retirement Services marketing, compliance, legal, and external vendors to manage existing promotional materials and initiate new content generation across the Retirement Services segment.
Manages and coordinates all sales and promotional materials for Retirement Services. This includes developing customized sales and promotional materials using internal resources or external vendors.
Provides hands-on writing, editing, and project management for a diverse range of internal and external communications output, such as brochures, e-mails, social media posts, web portal content, thought leadership articles, value-added materials, and product training.
Apply strong marketing, writing, and editing skills to create and manage compelling marketing content across the Retirement Services segment, both externally with agents and distribution partners and internally in communications.
Manages and coordinates all external communications with IMOs (Independent Marketing Organizations) and Agents concerning procedural, regulatory, product, commission, interest rate, or other changes as necessary. Ensures that communications are accurate and timely and are approved by appropriate internal areas.
Analyzes and understands end-to-end customer experiences to ensure that all content is technically correct and consistent in voice/tone/construction.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Related Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
10+ years of corporate communications experience.
5+ years of retirement planning/wealth management product experience preferred.
Working knowledge of fixed and index annuity products, non-qualified and qualified annuity taxation, and annuity regulatory environment preferred
Copy/content development experience and outstanding writing and editing abilities required.
Must possess attention to detail, organizational and project management skills, and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with peers, management at all levels, and external annuity distribution partners to perform job requirements.
Adobe Acrobat proficiency required.
Proficiency in key MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) required.
InDesign or other graphic software literacy desirable.
Ability to Travel: Up to 10%
Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
