At Akron General, you will work and learn from some of the best caregivers, provide and receive multitudes of support and appreciation, and create the steppingstones toward a rewarding career with one of the world's most respected healthcare organizations. We strive for patient-centered care and comfort, and we are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.
Cleveland Clinic's Wound, Ostomy and Continence (WOC) Nursing department features nationally certified WOC nurses that specialize in working with patients with select disorders of the integumentary, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary system or who are at risk for pressure injury. Our WOC nurses help patients optimize their quality of life by providing educational resources and managing ongoing clinical support. A physician may refer a patient to a WOC nurse to help patients learn how to care for themselves or until they are comfortable with the type of surgical procedure they had. Our nurses are here to serve as a resource to any concerns and questions from stoma patients.
By joining the team as an RN Specialist II, you will not only provide specialized direct and indirect care to these patients, but you will also be responsible for ongoing professional development of other nurses in the areas of wounds, ostomies, continence, skin care screening, prevention, and treatment.
