Pharmacy Operations Manager - Main Med Surg Pharmacy - Full Time - Days

Coordinates daily dispensing and department activities of the Pharmacy Services Department.   Develops and maintains interdepartmental systems.  Provides staffing as needed.

Performs the duties of a staff pharmacist as required.

Must be competent in all areas of Pharmacy Services (inpatient, chemotherapy, IV services & Epic system). Has a good understanding of the workflow and staffing needs for the department.

                                                                          

Coordinate operations within the Department of Pharmacy Services and interface with all hospital departments.   Develop and coordinate drug distribution systems within the pharmacy services department and as it applies to other hospital departments.  These systems include: Distribution, Pyxis, Narcotic Control and all required records.  Assist in maintenance of correct medications , quality assurance and testing in Epic.

 

Coordinate staffing to ensure proper levels and maintain employee schedule. Coordinate the orientation and training of all new associates, including residents.

 

Participate in Performance Improvement activities as assigned. Participate in assigned committee(s)

EDUCATION:          

B.S. in Pharmacy

          

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:   

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:         

Hospital experience preferred

Demonstrated communication skills (oral and written) a must, competency in dispensing pharmaceuticals, preparing IV admixtures, and providing drug information.

 

 

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS :

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Ohio
