JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Associate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of accounts payable for multiple companies and involved in many aspects of the monthly close process to include reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and account analyses. The Accounting Associate is visible at all levels of the organization.
Hybrid/Remote - This position requires on-site presence every other Tuesday, and attendance during collaboration weeks held once per financial quarter. Must live within 60 miles of our office headquarters in Tampa, FL.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares accounts payable vouchers to include general ledger coding for review
- Maintains vendor records and ensures all new vendors are authorized and approved
- Obtains all required approvals to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and internal controls
- Enters vendor transactions in Dynamics and posts accounts payable batches
- Processes weekly check runs and obtains check signatures in accordance with corporate policy
- Identifies 1099 vendors and compiles 1099 information to meet annual reporting requirements
- Prepares assigned journal entries (daily and monthly standard entries)
- Completes monthly bank and account reconciliations as assigned
- Completes data entry in Dynamics
- Performs general clerical and filing duties
- Consistently works in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team members
- Assists other team members in the performance of their assignments and the overall goal of timely and efficient month end closings
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains or other enterprise accounting software experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Works well in a deadline-oriented and team environment
EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required

HYBRID WORKING & COLLABORATION WEEKS
To foster HCI’s commitment to creating a collaborative work environment, remote workers will be required to report to a central office location for one week every quarter for collaboration, team building, and educational exercises. Attendance during collaboration weeks is a vital component of our team culture, and therefore mandatory unless exceptions are approved through Human Resources. Additionally, employees may be asked to report to the office outside of collaboration weeks as project requirements, team meetings, or other organizational needs that necessitate in-person collaboration occur.
