Job Description

Join the hospital trusted by Chicago’s Southland, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in this role as a Supply Chain Tech II in our Inventory Management Med/Surg department. 

 

Job Summary 

Responsible for distributing and issuing daily supplies, linen, mail, and incoming shipments for the entire facility. Other duties may include receiving stock and delivering to ordering units, filling linen carts, performing courier routes, as well as working directly in CPD.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Utilizes the Inventory Control System as well as the linen (Contoltex) handheld computer in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for restocking supplies in the Kanban bins, isolation carts, crash carts, and identifying expired goods.
  • Delivers patient care supplies as needed.
  • Fills and delivers linen carts to the entire facility. Enter all linen transactions into the computer.
  • Responsible for making sure that supplies are also stocked appropriately on the nursing units/clean utility room.
  • Receives all items and delivers to all units in the facility.
  • Timely completion of any other duties as assigned in the linen, CPD, receiving, courier, and mailroom departments
  • Performs other duties assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience and Training: 2-4 years’ experience in the same or closely related position familiar with inventory control, Lawson, or similar applications
  • Understanding of the inventory function in a distribution environment. Computer literacy is also required along with interpersonal skills with all levels of people within the organization.

Compensation & Benefits Overview

 

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.  The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.

 

The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
