Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team at AHA, a leading lab company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with a deep understanding of NetSuite, ASC 842 (leases), fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, payroll, Paylocity, tax experience, and intercompany accounting. This role requires at least 3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant and the ability to manage complex accounting functions while working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement.
- Ensure proper accounting for ASC 842 lease standards, including lease liabilities, right-of-use assets, and related disclosures.
- Manage and reconcile fixed asset schedules, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, and amortization.
- Oversee the preparation and reconciliation of prepaid expenses and accruals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial data and support financial decision-making.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and standards.
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, including providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Manage the preparation of monthly financial reports, including variance analysis.
- Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements related to accounting procedures.
- Assist in the implementation and optimization of NetSuite, ensuring it is fully utilized for efficient accounting operations.
- Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
- Support tax filings and regulatory requirements, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax.
- Oversee payroll accounting and work with Paylocity to ensure proper payroll journal entries and integration with NetSuite.
- Manage intercompany transactions, including reconciliation, eliminations, and proper reporting across multiple entities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in the healthcare, lab, or related industry.
- Strong experience with NetSuite accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of ASC 842 (Leases), fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, Paylocity, and intercompany accounting.
- Proven experience in preparing financial statements and working with complex accounting concepts.
- Some experience with tax filings and tax compliance, including sales, payroll, and income taxes.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the healthcare or laboratory industry is a plus.
