Sr. Infrastructure Technical Program Manager, GCNA Deployment
Amazon.comAbout the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
The AWS Internet Edge Planning and Deployment team is searching for a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager to drive data center capacity planning – specifically to secure space/power/cooling capacity for racks hosted in primarily 3rd party colocation data centers. In this role, you will assess the demand requirements along with available network resources to determine and drive prime solutions for our customers. You will work with stakeholders to complete per-requisites necessary to deliver critical network infrastructure capacity. You will have goals to improve infrastructure utilization as well as availability. You will work across the AWS Organization to align demand with data center capacity and coordinate execution planning across AWS Internet Edge partners. You will be responsible for determining how to move forward key infrastructure builds, and own communication around the portfolio. You will develop tooling and automation to simplify the process for expansions.
A successful individual in this role will have high judgement, strong bias for action, ability to work cross functionally and dive deep as needed to find solutions to unique problems that may be site specific. This person will also leverage a deep understanding of our platform, tools and influencing skills to obtain cross-functional and senior agreement buy off on capacity plan, availability standards, costs or any operational trade-offs that may be required to deliver capacity on time.
