Overview: The Retention Specialist assists with communication with our residents regarding lease renewals, preparing and distributing resident leasing packages, and managing the process for residents who have not financially met the terms of their lease agreement. This includes follow up with residents on their leasing experience, scheduling property inspections, confirming compliance with Renter’s Insurance, and engaging with residents on extending their lease.
This position is based in our office in Downtown Dallas, TX with a 5-day in office schedule.
The Role: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage all aspects of utility onboarding and other utility matters
- Update utilities database, as needed
- Communicate with residents and 3rd party utility companies daily
- Utilize exceptional interpersonal skills to develop a strong working relationship with providers and residents
- Assist leadership and colleagues as needed. Work collaboratively with all team members
- Provide a timely response to all resident requests from internal and external parties
- Assist with utility billing and general business functions
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of current state, Local, and utility policies and/or procedures
- Assist with resolving and documenting utility liens
- Other activities as assigned by your manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma required plus 2+ years of general office or call center experience
- HOA or property management experience a definite plus
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrates the ability to take initiative, be independent and a self-starter
- Effective project management skills and able to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Good time-management skills, able to consistently meet goals and deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Exhibits sound judgment and decision-making ability
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication and reading skills
- Able to work effectively under pressure and operate in a fast-paced work environment
Additional Information. The role will require:
- Regular typing, talking, hearing, seeing, reaching, and repetitive motion.
- Routine use of standard office equipment and computers
- That all duties are performed in a professional and safe manner
- Standard workdays are Monday through with occasional evening and weekend overtime hours
