The Department of Justice is seeking a dynamic Assistant Director Human Resources Operations and Systems to lead and streamline our HR processes. In this vital role, you will oversee recruitment strategies and ensure seamless payroll operations, providing vital reporting and supporting the success of our employees and the growth of the organization
This vital position combines recruitment and payroll operations, along with manager and executive reporting. The Department of Justice attracts top talent and operates with efficiency and integrity. Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment Leadership: Spearhead recruitment efforts for the Department, developing strategies to attract diverse, qualified candidates while ensuring compliance with federal hiring standards.
- Payroll Operations: Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal regulations and guidelines for all employees.
- HR Operations Oversight: Manage HR processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, and employee relations, ensuring alignment with Departmental policies.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement continuous improvements to HR operations, enhancing efficiency, compliance, and employee satisfaction.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with leadership to align HR strategies with the department’s values and objectives, ensuring the Department attracts and retains top talent committed to justice.
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive experience in HR management, particularly in recruitment and payroll operations.
- Strong familiarity with Tasmanian State Service HR regulations, policies, and compliance standards.
- Expertise in HRIS systems and payroll management tools.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, fast-paced environment.
