Essential Job Summary:

IWS is currently experiencing a period of immense, rapid, and exciting growth. As each business function prepares for the launch of NYC’s Commercial Waste Zones (CWZ) program, elements of our business require change and expansion to accommodate the historic evolution of NYC’s waste collection industry. We’re seeking a critical addition to our NYC CWZ program management team who will understand, strategically structure, and govern scaling-up activities across all work streams and functions.

This position will report to NYC’s Director of Contract Compliance and manage a myriad of projects of vastly different scopes, supporting our Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, HR, IT, Safety, Procurement, and Compliance teams. The main responsibilities for this role will include tracking progress on cross-functional, programmatic goals, governing implementation timelines, driving momentum to efficiently scale the NYC market, documenting the history of program-related activities, employing quality assurance practices to monitor program success/integrity, and reporting progress to key program stakeholders. Much of this job will be rooted in strategic planning and requires keen skills in analytical thinking, organization, and time management.

We are not requiring previous experience within the waste management industry, but a successful candidate will be a professional, self-sufficient, and personable individual who works well with professionals across all functions, carries out tasks with limited supervision, and has the ability to handle sensitive information. Effective program governance will require cross-functional collaboration, and the Program Manager will serve as the central liaison.
