Job Description

McDonald’s currently has an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced investigator to join the growing Workplace Investigations Team. This position is responsible for working closely with the Senior Director and key business partners to help scale the Workplace Investigations Team to IOM markets. The position will develop and manage teams of investigators located in IOM markets, conduct high-complexity workplace conduct investigations, and help continue to progress and strengthen the investigations program. This role is part of the Global Labor and Employment Team and partners closely with other Legal Teams, HR Teams, and Operations teams.

In this role, you will:

  • Build an IOM Investigations Team that supports IOM and market leadership at an organizational level by driving the company’s values and behaviors. 
  • Act as a role model and mentor within the team and department.
  • Support departmental management in defining and driving strategic direction for the team.
  • Identify actionable insights that can be shared with stakeholders to improve processes, build business solutions, and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement tools and technologies to achieve maximum effectiveness and efficiency when conducting investigations and gain actionable insights.
  • Lead high-complexity and sensitive investigations from start to finish, including conducting interviews, reviewing data and documents, preparing reports, consulting attorneys, and engaging with the business. 
  • Identify, assess, and advise on risks associated with employee investigations that could have significant potential impact on the brand.
  • Shape and advocate McDonald’s positions to internal and external audiences regarding a variety business matters.
  • Promote the professional growth and expertise of staff through ongoing training, coaching, and capability development.
  • Help identify efficiencies within the team and across the business.
  • Partner with outside service providers when appropriate to complete investigations.
  • Leverage a consistent framework to recommend action outcomes.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in the department and team and encourage the sharing of diverse opinions and concerns.
  • Foster a culture of trust, values, respect, and accountability within the team.
  • Up to 25% travel required​

The expected salary range for this role is $168,350 – $218,860 per year

Qualifications

  • JD or MBA or BA/BS in applicable field – Human Resources, Law, Compliance
  • Extensive workplace conduct investigations experience
  • Experience as a people manager
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to influence and demonstrate empathy​
  • Unquestioned integrity and ethics
  • Objective and creative thinker
  • Experience in change management preferred
  • Proven ability to be a partner and trusted advisor to key stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to coach junior team members​
