The EPMO Junior Business Analyst is a key contributor to the Enterprise Project Management Organization (EPMO) within the Risk Organization, providing coordination and oversight to portfolio data management, application system management, and report development. The role is collaborative in nature and has opportunity for development. This position will report to the Senior Portfolio Risk Analyst and up to our VP of Governance, Risk and Opportunities.

Your Day to Day:

  • Understand how risk and opportunities are used to make Project / Portfolio decisions though data analytics.
  • Develop Key KPI dashboards and applications using the Microsoft Power platform of applications.
  • Provide development, guidance, coordination, and analysis of project portfolio data.  This includes responsibilities for modeling data, generation of new reporting, and business application planning activities. 
  • The position requires collaboration within the business to confirm EPMO initiatives have proper strategic planning. Collaboration will include Business Units stakeholders, Commercial Integration, Portfolio Management, Finance, IT and any other stakeholder partners within the broader organization.
  • Clearly evaluates, communicates developments, and planning requirements to all areas of the EPMO organization.
  • Understands and pressure test new strategic application opportunities, challenge scope, develop methodology improvements, and keep schedules for realistic organization impacts.

 

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with preference for master degrees in data management or data science.
  • Minimum 1+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, preferable if proven performance using data within the context of Schedule, Risk and opportunities, Project Cost, and Project Management functions. This is a growth position for experience within Project Management community and help with the development of EPMO strategy programs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Broad-based thinking, collaborative style, team player, Influence without authority, effective communication skills, process oriented, problem solving, adaptive to change, business acumen, works well across cultures and organization.

 

Skills:

  • Strong Working Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI a must, and any additional data analytic tools are a plus. (examples: Python / R / Java / Databricks /etc)
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including strong use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Able to utilize and adapt to new technology for data collection and reporting.
  • Cross-functional, basic working-level understanding of Project Management / Project Controls (Cost, Schedule & Performance).
