Clinical Director/Physician Assistant - CT OR- MSH - Full Time

The Clinical Director holds a senior administrative position, and has responsibility for clinical and operational activities including, but not limited to, medical or clinical service delivery, cost management, utilization review, quality assurance and development of medical protocols. This individual oversees activities of all clinical committees and provides recommendations for best practices and development of new protocols to guide overall strategy.
1.Responsible for medical administrative and/or clinical leadership of department or clinical program.
2.Provides leadership and medical expertise in the development of clinical strategic programs in line with department projects and initiatives.
3.Acts as clinical/ medical resource to senior leadership, all clinical subcommittees and the department/program as a whole, and, if applicable, clinical research departments as related to protocol and CRF writing, adverse events, discussions with principal investigators, and internal meetings).
4.Provides medical and scientific input to committees, projects and programs.
5.Actively participates on institutional committees; follows up and discusses with internal colleagues and other participants on relevant issues.
6.Establishes ongoing liaison with key stakeholders, partner organizations, subcommittee leaders, government officials (if applicable), senior leadership and other healthcare organizations and ensure significant progress is achieved.
7.Represents the Mount Sinai Health System at meetings and external conferences, and in internal discussions on relevant issues.
8.Provides the planning and leadership to committees and partners by ensuring that appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed.
9.Ensures that interfaces between internal departments are managed optimally (including, if applicable, MSOs and ACOs).
10.Forms informal networks with company senior management, updating them on a regular basis with developments and issues.
11.Has joint responsibility and input into the financial management of the department, including budget planning, resource allocation and preparation of quarterly reports.
12.Works with senior leadership to determine appropriate staffing requirements for clinical projects and programs; has an active involvement in the identification and selection of suitable candidates for positions.
13.Ensures effective team communication throughout the department through the application of suitable reporting systems and structures, and the identification and provision of appropriate training.
14.Other relevant duties as assigned by Mount Sinai Health System executive leadership.
- Masters degree or greater
- 7 years (higher preferred), with a minimum of 5 years progressive medical team leadership experience
- Active New York State clinical licensure, including Physician (board eligible/board certified), doctoral-prepared Advanced Practice Nurse, RN, PA or NP.
