Staff Accountant (Accounting Solutions Team)

Description

As a key member of our Accounting Solutions Team, this Staff Accountant position will have opportunities to participate in providing a variety of services to our business, governmental, and non-profit clients. The primary day-to-day responsibilities involve providing accounting support to organizations in the greater West Michigan area. This will include a keen ability to meet deadlines, be proactive and provide consistent communication with clients and team members. Team members are provided with a clear path for career development and support to achieve.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine accounting tasks and balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintain client bill payment solutions
• Process client payroll, tax reporting, and perform routine maintenance
• File timely sales and use tax reporting
• Assist with research and filing annual 1099 returns
• Learn and develop proficiency in client technology stack including set-up and conversions.
• Proactive willingness to teach new staff and intern skills as needed

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
• Minimum 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience 
• Public accounting experience preferred
• QuickBooks Online experience preferred
