Job Description

The University Office of Marketing & Communications is recruiting a student worker to help share important stories about the University of Nevada, Reno. This position will work in the Office of Marketing & Communications on the Communications team, assisting with public relations, including media relations efforts and planning.

  • Administrative support

Required Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno.
  • Desired majors include communications, journalism, English, marketing or a related field
  • Knowledge of news media, photography, videography, and social media platforms

  • Junior or senior status are encouraged to apply
  • Possess strong story-telling capabilities
  • Strong writing skills

  • Communicates and works effectively in a team environment

The Office of Marketing and Communications serves as an expert resource to University employees and partners by producing compelling, brand-centric messaging and creative. Our team ensures the University story is heard across all channels — from print, digital, web and social to government, media and public relations. We develop strategic content for diverse audiences, including our campus and local communities, prospective students, alumni, business partners, media and higher education peers.
