About the role

Western Midstream (WES) is a master limited partnership formed to own, develop, acquire, and operate midstream assets. We are engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing, and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing, and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil; and gathering, transporting, and disposing of produced water for our customers. 
 
We operate or own equity interests in assets in the Rocky Mountains, North-central Pennsylvania, and Texas, including approximately 16,000 miles of petroleum and natural gas pipelines and over 100 gathering, treating, and processing facilities.

Job Summary 
 
The Spatial Data Administrator will be primarily responsible for spatial data management to support WES’s - Asset Integrity (AI), Regulatory, Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) programs. The Spatial Data Administrator will need to proactively work with stakeholder groups to define their business requirements – understand the scope of work, ensure correct and complete data extracts, analyses, updates, and reporting. 
 
The team member will be required to demonstrate and follow WES Core Values 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Work with Spatial Data Team and various team members to identify, scope, and document various efforts to support AI, Regulatory & HSSE efforts for Compliancy and Safety 
  • Maintain and manage the data to ensure data integrity with respect to spatial and attribute accuracy. Provide spatial data extracts, analyze data for cleanliness and communicate results. 
  • Development of business solutions to help various WES teams implement procedures to further enhance safety measures in the field. 
  • Maintain communication with both corporate and field team for verification of data. 
  • Work with team members to provide data management and assistance in completing MOC updates. 
  • Support data migration efforts and utilization of data with adherence to Pipeline Data Compliance 
  • Conduct data quality assessments and troubleshoot data-related issues. 
  • Collect, validate, and maintain geospatial datasets to ensure accuracy and completeness. 
  • Have working knowledge of DOT Class Location, HCA, Texas RRC T4 reporting, PHMSA guidelines, and pipeline inline inspection (ILI) data.   

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 yrs. experience with ESRI desktop software- ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro 
  • Ability to run geo-processing tools. 
  • Skilled in data editing and running selection queries. 
  • Mapping and analytical skills 
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Portal 
  • Model Builder, FME or Python skills are a plus. 
  • Knowledge of PODS (Pipeline Open Data Standard) 4.02 & 7.2 
  • PODS Editing knowledge and use of Software preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of Midstream oil and gas operations is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing (APR) and Utility Network preferred. 
  • Microsoft Office Suite & Teams 
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills 
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

 

Education  

Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or GIS/Technology related field.    

Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.  

  

Certification/Licenses  

GIS certification program is a plus.   

  

Travel Requirements  

The percentage of travel required for this position is 0-10% 

 

Work Schedule 
This position follows a hybrid schedule working in the office Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and working remote Wednesday and Friday. Monday-Thursday are 9 hours and Fridays are 4 hours.
