Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Regional Sourcing Leader! This position can be located in Houston, TX or Midland, MI.
About you and this role
You will lead regional partner engagement with responsibility to understand requirements in developing and executing the business strategy. This role is responsible to represent Purchasing across commercial areas and the Source to Pay organization, delivering value through market understanding and key supplier relationship management to define sourcing opportunities, and drive innovation and sustainability initiatives. You will lead a regional sourcing team, collaborating with global category leaders to ensure regional input to the global strategy, and alignment on the regional execution.
In this role, you will lead people leaders and professionals and will be required to understand key business drivers and factors to maximize department performance. You should be able to inspire and persuade people leaders to act and/or negotiate with external partners, vendors, or customers.
It is your responsibility to be able to identify and resolve complex operational and organizational problems and leverage the appropriate resources within or outside your discipline or functional area. You will need to be able to lead a large team or multiple related teams and develop plans of execution to ensure alignment with long-term operational strategy. Your performance impacts your discipline's results by supporting and funding projects, products, services, and/or technology and is guided by business plans for your function.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and strengthening of the global strategy and implement in the region.
- Ensure value creation for Dow by working with your team to define sourcing opportunities, develop and align sourcing strategies, leverage supplier relationships, analyze market conditions, and negotiate contracts.
- Responsible for delivering the regional EBITDA and Cash flow targets for the commercial area of responsibility within sourcing.
- Co-create with the businesses in the opportunity assessment, prioritization and business case investment justification working closely with product director, external manufacturing, and global tech center to enable growth/expansions/optimization.
- Interface with business, functional and PTP partners to resolve complex problems and to ensure effective execution of the Global Procurement Work Process within your region.
- Participate in business teams to understand challenges, identify sourcing priorities and build/reshape business strategy.
- Drive sourcing opportunities across commercial area that contributes to innovation and sustainability initiatives supporting business priorities.
- Demonstrated depth of expertise in managing a portfolio with significant stakeholder, customer, supplier and partner impact.
- Lead Supplier Relationship Management for the region across commercial areas, evolving relationships to secure sustainable product / service capacity at competitive cost to serve.
- Provide leadership and guidance to individual contributors in the implementation of projects in alignment with the global strategic sourcing process.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of relevant working experience or 15 years of relevant working experience or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- A minimum requirement for this US-based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
