ABOUT THE ROLE
As Chief Of Staff, you will help drive key decisions for Sounder’s executive team while also influencing the way that we run our business. You’ll be responsible for advising our CEO, driving efficiency, and building important relationships across the company to align teams. Your responsibilities include highlighting potential risks, developing performance standards, and identifying growth and profitability opportunities.
We’re seeking an experienced candidate who ideally comes from a start-up background and has helped scale an organization over both a short-term and long-term period of time. Your background may include roles as a business operations manager, Chief of Staff. We care more about your specific experience, and ability to influence change, make important decisions, and provide best-in-class knowledge to our growing company. 
You will work most closely with our Leadership team but will have a chance to leverage your leadership skills across the entire company in assisting to shape the future Sounder has ahead! 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with leaders across the company to set, align, and track company goals
  • Own project and program management for key initiatives, ensuring follow-up, ownership, and clarity
  • Become highly knowledgeable about the business’s priorities, strategy, and operations of our global organization
  • Conduct special studies for top management in areas such as the organization's operational effectiveness, capacity utilization, and operating cost containment
  • Create the economic analysis and business models of specific products/services, companies, and industry sectors
  • Develop, mentor, and train various teams while monitoring to make sure departmental goals are being met. Conducts work performance evaluations
  • Perform consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years experience as a Chief of Staff or in a similar role; experience working with startups is critical
  • Prior technology and/or podcast experience preferred 
  • Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures
  • Strong general business knowledge that can be used to produce relevant research and business writing skills to summarize information
  • Proven strong financial and accounting skills
  • Have a “make things happen” mindset, spotting opportunities for Sounder to improve and taking action to make that improvement happen.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Prior experience interfacing with third-party accounting teams is a plus

The estimated pay range for this role, based in New York City, is ($75,000- $95,000). This role will also be eligible to participate in our company's equity program.
