Collaborate with consultants, advisors, and internal partners to create solutions that simplify administration and streamline day-to-day operations.

About The Role

The Relationship Manager role plays a key role in client retention efforts, providing assistance for strategic administration of defined contribution plans. Performs research, resolves issues, and communicates solutions/alternatives that best serve the plan sponsor.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with consultants, advisors, and internal partners to create solutions that simplify administration and streamline day-to-day operations.
  • Help plan sponsors meet and comply with regulatory deadlines.
  • Develop strategies to meet plan sponsor goals for the year, while creating and managing the project plan to achieve these goals.
  • Work closely with internal partners in marketing, compliance, plan design, processing, and data engagement. Relationship Managers leverage these resources daily to ensure they provide plan sponsors with solutions that best meet their needs.
  • Plan and prepare for quarterly meetings with the consultant or advisor to make sure everyone has the same vision before meeting with the plan sponsor.

Skills and Qualifications

Building strong relationships and earning trust is vital, with both internal and external partners. Relationship Managers must be proactive and creative in their engagement and support of plan sponsors.  They must possess the:

  • Ability to handle client interactions and solve client challenges as they arise
  • Ability to multi-task, solve issues and escalate appropriately
  • Ability to learn and understand ERISA and succeeding legislation governing qualified pension plan types
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent education/experience
  • 2+ years of  financial services experience preferred
  • FINRA licenses SIE, Series 6 or 7, 63 or 66 preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple institutional client relationships independently
  • Must pay attention to details and maintain an organized workflow
  • Must be able to manage tasks and priorities to meet strict deadlines
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement problem solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to continually meet and exceed client expectations and goals
  • Candidate must be comfortable with outbound proactive client communication via phone calls, email, and web conference. 
  • Pension experience in the areas of benefits design, compliance and implementation are a plus

Work Location

This position is currently designated as remote.

Estimated Travel

May include up to 25% travel.
