Summary of Job Duties:

The Orthopedic Technician provides professional and competent assistance to physicians in the . Provides assistance with application and management in cast, splint, and brace with Residents. Gives instruction on proper care of casts, braces, etc to patients.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED plus one (1) year of direct patient care experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant or Orthopedic Tech experience

Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional and competent assistance to physicians with the application and management of casts for orthopedic patients

  • Educates patients regarding casts, splints, or braces following application

  • Collects and records patients' medical history and acquires patient vital signs.

  • Advises patients regarding treatment, medication, and specific physician instructions

  • Collects lab sam
