Performs Senior Trainer level duties associated with Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Using industry knowledge, business science, weatherization and adult learning principles, the Senior Trainer creates, customizes and delivers a range of online and in-person training courses, and incorporates the latest knowledge of industry wide best practices. This position reports to the Director of the Energy Smart Academy.This position will be required to work onsite in Santa Fe, NM.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and implement in person and online weatherization related training, including creating new and updating existing curriculum.
Provide customer service to new and existing customers.
Provide information, training and technical assistance to industry professionals.
Develops appropriate Skills/Knowledge Assessment Testing.
Proctor students for National Building Performance Institute exams.
Trains and supervise Energy Smart Academy Trainers.
Represents the Energy Smart Academy at National, State and local events, meetings, and committees.
Oversee the maintenance of the Energy Smart Academy Lab and the Equipment and facilities used in training.
Work in a team environment to deliver excellent customer service.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of current principles and best practices related to training delivered by the Energy Smart Academy.
Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning.
Knowledge of best practices in online learning.
Skill in Microsoft Office applications.
Skill in curriculum development.
Skill in online and in person instruction.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to teach using a Learning Management System.
Ability to remain current with new and existing industry certifications.
Ability to represent the college at national, state and local events and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
Five (5) years of construction related experience to weatherization or energy efficiency experience.
Equivalent education/certification may be substituted for experience.
Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Driver’s license required.
Current certification in one or more of the following: Building Science Principles, Building Analyst Technician and Building Analyst Professional or related certification.
OR
Master’s Degree
Three (3) years of related experience to weatherization or energy efficiency experience.
Equivalent education/certification may be substituted for experience.
Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Driver’s license required.
Current certification in one or more of the following: Building Science Principles, Building Analyst Technician and Building Analyst Professional or related certification.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
This work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or intermittently standing or walking. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects. The work is typically done in an office.
Work Hours:
8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday though additional hours are expected to handle customers in all U.S. time zones. Weekend and evening work may be required occasionally.
