The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

1What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers Investigative Services provides industry-first resources designed to detect and deter fraudulent claims. Using some of the most comprehensive technology available, we have the abilities and expertise to identify potential risks and combat fraudulent practices. Under broad oversight, this position is responsible for leading teams within Travelers Investigative Services (TIS). As a member of the TIS senior management team, develops and implements investigative strategies for all lines of business through partnerships with field and home office senior leadership within Claim and Underwriting. This position will require an analytical acumen to monitor the performance of the business unit. This position is a manager of managers.What Will You Do?
- Leadership:
- Manages a highly motivated investigative staff in a remote management environment. Attracts, retains and develops world-class diverse investigative staff.
- Establishes program(s), staffing strategies and plans for forecasting needs from trends in fraud/loss exposure to the organization.
- Conducts reviews of the staff investigative work product regularly to ensure quality and impactful results.
- Accountable for the overall training, development, motivation and retention of staff. Provides constructive feedback; coaches and manages performance of staff; takes disciplinary action when necessary.
- Responsible for the ongoing evaluation of program operation, performance and effectiveness.
- Monitors budget and expense control strategies and initiatives.
- Advocates for their teams to ensure modernization of capabilities
- Strategic Focus:
- Develops strategies for new fraud & non fraud exposures by understanding emerging industry trends.
- Develops and executes the TIS Strategic Business Plan.
- Participates in process improvement initiatives and ensures results are achieved. Performs cost benefit analysis of TIS pilots, projects and initiatives.
- Coordinates and implements assigned claim-wide programs.
- Responsible for program communication strategy and implementation and support of initiatives and programs to staff.
- Researches/analyzes industry trends, emerging issues and best practices to apply them to leverage and maximize results. Conducts risk analysis of Travelers business practices and processes.
- Partnerships:
- Works closely with Claim Legal, Lab, Subrogation, Inland marine, Risk Control and other Claim and Underwriting areas in the development and implementation of litigation & investigation strategies
- Builds and leverages effective alliances with Claim Leadership, Marketing, Underwriting and other business partners to ensure that the Investigative Services business priorities are in-synch with the ever changing business environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- 2+ years of experience with workforce management including staff forecasting, training and development of staff preferred.
- Completed course of study and/or formal training related to issues of law specific to insurance (e.g., AIC, AEI, CPCU) preferred.
- Insurance and Healthcare fraud industry experience Claim/Litigation Management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Claim and TIS practices, processes, systems and accounting requirements preferred.
- Knowledge of Fire Investigations or Cargo theft also preferred.
- Leadership:
- Manage and develop staff, which may include staff that directly handles investigations or special programs.
