We are seeking an experienced GL & Cost Accounting Manager to join our North America Accounting team, reporting to the Sr Director, Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing cost accounting processes, managing fixed assets, coordinating and supervising year-end inventory count, and establishing inventory policies and processes. Additionally, the GL and Cost Accounting Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide insights that will drive business decisions.

What will you do? 

• Oversee the cost accounting processes, including inventory valuation, variance analysis, and cost of goods sold calculations.
• Coordinate and supervise year-end inventory count, and ensure accuracy of inventory records.
• Establish inventory policies and processes, and continuously improve inventory management practices.
• Manage the fixed assets accounting processes, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking.
• Review general ledger activity and account reconciliations for relevant business processes, including reviews of cost of goods sold and cloud hosting costs, to ensure an accurate and timely financial reporting close.
• Assist in developing, maintaining and monitoring SOX control procedures and accounting policies
• Support external audits and tax filings as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data and provide insights that will drive business decisions.
• Stay up-to-date with accounting standards and regulations, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

What skills and experience will you bring? 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
• CPA designation required
• 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or a tech startup organization, with experience in public accounting preferred
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), cost accounting principles, and fixed assets accounting principles
• Experience with Netsuite, Netsuite’s inventory module and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
• Experience with FloQast and Coupa preferred
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and accuracy
