Would you like to help support and improve the important work being done in child welfare in Desoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties?  

The Safe Children Coalition Quality Assurance Department is an amazing supportive team that works closely together and with our case management partners to develop and implement quality improvement strategies to strengthen our services for children and families. Job responsibilities include case reviews and analysis, tracking, continuous quality improvement initiatives, coaching, and training. We are excited to announce a Quality Assurance and Professional Development Specialist position opening! 


PURPOSE:

Provides quality assurance and training to the Community Based Care initiative through quantitative (statistical/outcome) and qualitative (professional/best practice) data gathering and analysis, developing and implementing associated quality improvement, training and professional development strategies to strengthen child welfare services in Desoto, Manatee, and Sarasota Counties. Reports to the Quality Assurance and Development Supervisor.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for assuring compliance regarding current federal, state, and local laws, contracts, accreditation standards, and policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and advocates for improvements to the child welfare system as related to the primary purpose to strengthen practice, improvement the timeliness, accessibility, quality and effectiveness of services and increase the natural and enduring community supports for children and families.
  • As a contributing member of the Quality Assurance team, engages in data collection, systems analysis, evaluation, and redesign that respond to SCC requirements.
  • Supports quantitative analysis of outcomes and compliance through participating in the monitoring of all sub-contracts by providing on-going review of files and documentation and providing associated recommendations to improve compliance.
  • Supports qualitative analysis of program design and improvement through participation in staffing's, interviews with staff and consumers, staff and consumer surveys, theoretical basis/best practice research and application, and documentation analysis.
  • Supports professional development initiatives by assimilating recommendations from analysis activities into training tools that can be used to ensure effective deployment of processes and support/retention of appropriate and skilled resources.
  • Engages in systems analysis, evaluation, and delivery of trainings that increases skills of staff.
  • Assists with the delivery of the pre-service and in-service training to child welfare staff in our CBC.
  • Responsible for providing training, support, direction, and guidance to child welfare staff.
  • Assesses child welfare staff competency to perform child welfare services under standard supervision.

Requirements

LIST OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Current certification as a Child Welfare Professional preferred.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in the areas of psychology, social work, or related human service field. A minimum of three year's experience in the delivery of child welfare services. Staff development/training and/or quality assurance/quality improvement experience preferred.
