Position Title:              

  • Classroom Instructional Aide/Bus Aide
  • Peterstown Elementary School—3rd Grade

    Job Description:             

  • Assist teacher in instructional activities both in whole group and small groups as directed
  • Assist teacher as needed with planning, preparation, and distribution of classroom materials
  • Share in responsibility of protecting students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Perform limited, rotating supervisory duties not related to instruction
  • Establish effective rapport with students assigned to the classroom
  • Motivate students to develop attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation, in accordance with each pupil's ability
  • Provide necessary assistance during transportation to and from school and for special school events as needed
  • Positive work habits
  • Perform duties efficiently and productively.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and supervising children.
  • Must be willing to attend training concerning health care matters, basic/specialized health care procedures, reading and numeracy instruction, and in all areas related to the classroom issues.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of students' protected educational and health related information.

 
Qualifications:

  • Must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Must meet qualifications for aide, pass state aide test; pass criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must have or be willing to get First Aid/CPR certification. 

 
Salary/Effective Date:                             

  • Base Salary $26,610   
  • Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule, plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation.
