Description:

We seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Director to join our Development, Engineering, and Construction team. This position can work out of Houston, TX, Princeton, NJ, or other NRG office locations on a hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will manage the evaluation of complex commercial arrangements for power generation and storage solutions designed to support and enhance NRG’s industry-leading retail position and will be relied upon to provide recommendations on various critical decisions from project inception through commencement of operation.  Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills are essential for success in this position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to evaluate future performance and scenario risk of energy-related development opportunities.
  • Work closely with other internal departments and third parties to gather necessary data and ensure that all modeling assumptions and mechanics are reasonable and accurate.
  • Evaluate projected cash flow, financial performance, and impacts to key financial metrics under different scenarios.
  • Develop presentation materials to support internal approval processes.
  • Present findings and recommendations on the planned course of action.
  • Provide support for project financing efforts including analysis of financing packages, leading due diligence activities, and supporting closing obligations.
  • Interface with financial institutions and credit agencies.
  • Support corporate budgeting and forecasting efforts as required.
  • Perform industry research and ad-hoc analyses as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field.
  • Twelve (12) years of professional experience.
  • Seven (7) years of management experience.
  • Proforma financial modeling and analysis experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree.
  • Energy industry and/or data center experience.
  • Knowledge of energy markets (ERCOT, NYISO, NE-ISO, PJM) and energy-intensive C&I sectors.
