Leeding Builders Group (LBG) is a New York-based construction manager specializing in open shop commercial, residential and hospitality projects. Founded on a reputation of professionalism and quality, with the financial backing of AECOM, we are one of New York City's premier builders.
As a separately branded entity of the AECOM Construction Management group, LBG operates independently with its own management structures and resources.
Job Description
Leeding Builders Group, a premier builder in New York City, has an opening for a Manager - Insurance & Claims to add to our exciting firm in Manhattan.
- Responsible for reviewing insurance claims after they are submitted to make sure that proper filing procedures have been followed.
- Assists insurance adjusters with complicated or unusual claims.
- Works across a variety of industries.
- Ensure costs are reasonable depending on the claim.
- Approve or deny claims, or to forward them to claim investigators for further review.
- Examines routine to complex claims to determine whether they may be covered.
- Authorizes claim payments and ensure timely disbursements, coordinating or conducting investigations on insurance claims, identifying claims with possible recovery from third parties, and consulting with attorneys, doctors and agents in regards to the disposition of complex claims.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement:
- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience in construction claims, risk management, etc. OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in compliance with NYC construction law and/or claims insurance carrier or broker experience.
- Experience managing claims arising under New York Labor Law Sections 200, 241(6) and 240(1).
- Experience working for a General Contractor with large, multi-million-dollar, diverse, construction projects.
- Experience with NYC judicial process.
- Experience in the mediation of claims.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Offered rate of compensation (New York City only) will be based on individual education, qualification, experience and work location. The salary range for the position is $100,945.50 - $186,749.18 annually (exempt).
