We are currently looking for a Manager - Engineering to join our team in Ludington.
Job Summary
Lead a high performing team of engineers and maintenance professionals in a fast-paced, growth focused environment where innovation and continuous improvement are key. You'll drive strategic initiatives that optimize manufacturing processes using lean tools, secure capital for new equipment, and deliver impactful cost savings. With a strong technical background in aluminum manufacturing including CNCs, tooling, sawing, presses, and fixturing, you’ll guide complex projects from concept to execution while balancing multiple priorities. Your leadership will foster team development, preventive maintenance excellence, and operational troubleshooting to ensure long term success. Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including product management, manufacturing, sales, and marketing, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within engineering processes, implementing changes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of engineering professionals, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Manage departmental budgets, allocate resources effectively, and track expenses to ensure financial responsibility.
- Oversee the execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
- Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
- Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Manufacturing, or similar field of study.
- Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years additional engineering experience OR 4 years additional engineering experience if no post-secondary education.
- 5 years engineering experience (prefer combination of manufacturing engineering process ownership responsibilities and project engineering).
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Applicants must be able to work in Ludington, MI without relocation assistance.
- Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience with formal problem solving.
- Ability to develop and engage teams.
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, including engineering and maintenance, with a focus on preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
- Experience managing capital projects, including justification, procurement, and implementation of new equipment.
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as BIFMA and ISO.
- Experience in the furniture industry, with an understanding of low-volume, high-variation manufacturing environments.
- Technical expertise in aluminum extrusion processing, including CNC operations, tooling, fixturing, and material handling.
