Bachoco USA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor on 1st shift in the Fort Smith, AR Further Processing facility.
Summary: Supervises up to 8 employees including a lead mechanic. The supervisor also looks for improvements inside the department and improvements of the equipment or facility to improve production performances and presents the improvements to the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Insures the Preventive Maintenance Program and the Maintenance Work Orders are being performed properly by the crew members.
- Responsible for the safety of the mechanics and the equipment.
- Works with the Refrigeration Operators and Supervisor when needed.
- Works with the Maintenance Manager on all projects to insure they are completed properly and safely.
- Works directly with contractors to insure their jobs are completed properly and safely per our company policies.
- Uses downtime records to help improve efficiencies.
- Insures all safety programs are being adhered to by employees and contractors.
- Maintains training records on all employees and keeps them updated as required.
- Maintains log records on various equipment, timesheets, green sheets, and scheduled day off records.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises up to 27 employees in the Maintenance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university; and/or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; Order processing systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
