We are looking for a seasoned Program Manager to join our team in a highly dynamic role!  You will lead a team supporting technical training delivery for a premium automotive OEM customer. This leadership role provides oversight of activities including class scheduling, technical training preparation and delivery to automotive retail technicians. Success will rely on your close partnership with the OEM customer to understand their products, technologies, and business objectives. This hybrid role is based in Northern New Jersey and includes working from home and two to three days a week in the office.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Manage multiple project components simultaneously and according to deadlines.
  • Proactively bring solutions to OEM customer and to MSX leadership.
  • Assume ownership of all aspects of project delivery, including budget management, timelines, customer invoicing, quality of deliverables, and customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate visibility to challenges; offer solutions and guide processes to resolution.
  • Oversee delivery of ad hoc program projects, such as course updates.

Team Management

  • Manage dispersed team of Technical Trainers, Apprentice Trainers, and Administrators to meet customer objectives.
  • Motivate and guide team members while ensuring performance.
  • Collaborate with customer to ensure trainers are appropriately trained.
  • Resolve resourcing constraints as needed.
  • Recruit and hire new team members as needed.

Class Scheduling and Preparation

  • Collaborate with customer and team administrators to optimize and manage class scheduling.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities for Apprentice Trainers.
  • Maximize training delivery days to achieve customer objectives.

 

Client Communications

  • Establish rapport and build relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Conduct program meetings and maintain documentation and reporting.
  • Manage all client communications, including weekly status and presentations.
  • Attend onsite meetings at customer location as required.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Automotive Technology Degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5-7 years in project management.
  • Experience as a Technical Training Instructor
  • Understanding of retail technician needs
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Success in a fast-paced environment with aggressive deadlines and frequent change.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Proven client relationship management skills.
  • Strong work ethic and an enthusiastic, “can-do” attitude.
  • Track-record of taking initiative and being a problem-solver.
  • Experience managing technical training programs, a plus.
  • Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, MS Teams, or others.
