Senior Scientist – Surface Biology Early Validation

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to support early validation of membrane protein targets through development and application of quantitative, cell-based assays.  

In this role, you will contribute to building and executing scalable experimental workflows that generate high-quality data on target expression, localization, and behavior in cellular systems. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to support discovery efforts across Therapeutic Areas.

  • Design and execute scalable cell-based assays to assess membrane protein expression, localization, and internalization
  • Apply flow cytometry-based approaches to generate quantitative and reproducible data
  • Integrate complementary approaches such as imaging-based assays to support target evaluation
  • Develop and optimize assays for robustness, scalability and consistency
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data to support target evaluation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate findings into discovery programs
  • Maintain high standards of experimental rigor and documentation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree OR
  • Master’s degree and 2 years of scientific experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years scientific experience OR
  • Associate’s degree and 8 years scientific experience OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 10 years scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience, including leadership of scientific projects or teams
  • Strong expertise in flow cytometry, imaging, and cellular assay development
  • Experience working with membrane proteins or receptor biology
  • Experience with scalable or high-throughput assays workflows
  • Familiarity with molecular biology techniques or genome editing approaches to support assay design
  • Strong data analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
