Are you ready to take on a high-impact role supporting a premier satellite ground system? We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Systems Engineer – Control Account Manager to support a cross-disciplined Integrated Product Team (IPT) of engineers for a large-scale software development effort. Your knowledge of cost and schedule management, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) development and maintenance will be critical to driving program success and delivering cutting-edge solutions.

This position is onsite in Aurora, CO, supporting the IPT’s development of a satellite command and control system. In this role, you will assist in planning and managing all aspects of scope, budget, and Earned Value for the IPT. You will also interface with the IPT Lead, other IPT CAMs, the Program Chief Engineer, and the Program Manager.

What You Will Do

  • Plan all time-phased scope and budgets for the IPT, partnering with the Program Planning and Finance discipline to develop and maintain the IPT’s Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) discrete tasks as well as status Level of Effort (LOE) tasks
  • Manage the IPT’s Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance by reviewing labor and material actuals, supporting analysis of actuals vs plan, schedule status, cost/schedule integration, cost/schedule performance, corrective action plans, performance recovery plans, rolling wave baseline planning, Budget Change Requests (BCRs), Latest Revised Estimate (LRE), and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
  • Contribute to development of all EVM-related deliverables and associated program performance metrics, as well as prepare for and execute Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs) and supporting Government Surveillance Reviews
  • Work to become Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certified

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience in change management and/or cost estimation
  • Experience with EV Tools (e.g. Planning/Scheduling, EVMS, IMP/IMS, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts or EAC)

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
  • Agile software development experience utilizing the Atlassian Tool Suite
  • Experience with complex satellite ground systems, particularly mission management
  • Systems, Test, and/or Software Engineering experience on a large government software development contract
  • Proven written and oral communication skills
