The Clinical Certifying Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of clinical certifying scientists, including performance evaluation, work/PLB schedules, quality assurance measures, and identification of process improvements.
The work schedule will be: 1st shift, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise employees and determine personnel needs; interview and evaluate potential hires; communicate disciplinary actions or improvement plans; provide work direction; maintain employee work/PLB schedules; evaluate the performance of employees.
Create and monitor production and quality assurance metrics.
Interact with clients and respond to their problems and concerns.
Collaborate with other departments and management as needed.
Identify and initiate process improvements.
Coordinate implementation of approved procedural changes.
Write standard operating procedures.
Stay current on technical developments in the field of clinical toxicology.
Spend up to 50% of the time performing duties of a clinical certifying scientist.
Travel once a year to one or several of the following sister locations: St. Paul, Phoenix, and Raritan.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
Minimum of 6 years of clinical lab experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years of clinical laboratory experience with a Master’s degree; or 2 years of clinical lab experience with a Ph.D.
Minimum of two years of clinical lab certifying scientist experience OR two years of clinical lab leadership experience is required in addition to the requirements above.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of chromatography and/or mass spectrometry experience is highly preferred.
Managerial experience is highly preferred.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple departments, personalities, and levels within an organization.
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to effectively communicate status to key stakeholders.
Excellent problem solving skills.
