Overview

The Cash Application Associate will perform a key role within our accounting team to ensure the accurate accounting and reporting of cash in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. A successful candidate will be an effective communicator and problem-solver who is able to meaningfully collaborate with multiple teammates and departments. This role will utilize systems and computing tools to create efficient processes for accounting and reporting. This position requires someone able to work standard business hours (8am – 5pm) in either Eastern Standard Time or Central Standard Time

 

Responsibilities

  • Take primary ownership of cash application process including working with leaders across multiple departments to confirm proper application of customer remittances and payments, including investigation on any unapplied customer cash received
  • Act as liaison between Billing, Collections, and Accounting functions within the Finance department
  • Investigate and resolve payment or invoicing issues and questions directly with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the processing of transactions related to new contract setup, contract amendments, terminations, and credit memos in NetSuite, ensuring timely processing based internal deadlines
  • Collaborate with various departments including sales, legal, business operations, services, accounts payable, billing, and collections to resolve issues, as appropriate
  • Complete ad hoc reporting and additional project requests as assigned by managers

 

Qualifications 

  • At least 2 years of hands-on professional experience in a corporate environment
  • Experience using NetSuite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Ability to process high volumes of transactions with attention to detail and accuracy

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience using Celigo and Salesforce, or other ERP software systems
  • Working knowledge of accounting, finance, or related concepts
  • Previous transaction processing, cash reporting or banking experience
  • Prior experience working in a SaaS organization
  • Intermediate Excel skills (i.e. vlookup, pivot table, etc.) and willingness to learn new tools/systems
  • Demonstrates reliability with a strong understanding of the impactful nature of their work, delivers results with integrity and a sense of accountability
