Warehouse Worker - Portland Off-Site - Receiving

As a Warehouse Associate in IDEXX's Portland offsite distribution center, you may perform a variety of tasks including receiving our products, and pick, pack, load, and shipping of our products to national customers and distribution centers. You will ensure accuracy of documentation and shipments, troubleshoot and resolve issues as required while maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse and environment.

Schedule

This is a full-time, 1st shift position, Monday-Friday, 6am-3pm.

This position is eligible for a $1 pay differential for driving a forklift once certified through our in-house training program!

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

May be responsible for any or all of the following:

• Inspect and unload inbound freight, using PIT equipment.

• Receive raw materials as well as finished goods into inventory using SAP software and RF handheld scanner.

• Prepares shipments for inter plant transfers.

• Maintains a clean, orderly and safe warehouse and environment

• Investigates and resolves inventory inaccuracies and provides root cause analysis and recommendations for corrective actions

• Supports inventory processes, solutions and strategies for the continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and order fulfillment quality; includes cycle counts, data entry, tracking, reconciling, documenting and reporting

• Moves and stores equipment, raw materials and inventory for internal customers

• Supports instrument repair process including daily and routine shipping and receiving.

• Complete IDEXX provided PIT training and maintain operators certification.

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associates degree or equivalent preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work well under pressure and tight time constraints

• Ability to effectively function in a team environment

• Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Good computer skills and knowledge including SAP, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred

• Excellent customer service skills

• Ability to work flexible hours

• Able to follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable ISO regulations

• Able to properly lift up to 70 pounds; ability to move up to 100 pounds with assistance

• Certificate to operate a forklift may be required; certificate to work with hazardous materials may be required; knowledge of export documentation and international traffic may be required; previous experience with dangerous goods is preferred; knowledge of customs rules, regulations and export documentation preferred

Physical Demands

• Warehouse-type environment

• Ability to lift 50lbs.

Work Environment

• Normal warehouse environment where protective clothing may be required

• Moderate to high noise level

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
