JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of Applied Biomedical Engineering is seeking a part-time Research Assistant for the summer.  A successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in biomedical engineering and animal research.  They will be responsible for performing a variety of job duties, including: assisting in complex in vivo and in vitro procedures, experiments, and tests; handling biological fluids and bacteria; working with Comparative Medicine department to treat samples from animal experiments; design and follow IACUC protocols; and collecting, entering, and analyzing data along with testing the integrity of the data. 

This is a part-time position working 40 hours a week on campus during the summer.  Recent college students are encouraged to apply. 

Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s Degree
