About the role

PeopleCert is looking for a Project Editor, who will be responsible for supporting the commissioning editor, developing, reviewing, editing, and proofreading the core guidance and commercial courseware. They will also provide editorial support for the delivery of digital content to several PeopleCert subscription and membership platforms.

As a Project Editor your tasks will include the following:

  • Develop & edit the submitted manuscript to ensure structure and language is consistent across the entire product
  • Work closely with subject-matter experts, commissioning editor, product development, and product management to ensure that core guidance is aligned with the product specification
  • Liaise with authors to manage manuscript revision
  • Work with the designers and commissioning editor to deliver diagrams and illustrations
  • Support the commissioning editor throughout the creation process by proofreading, collating feedback, and file checking
  • Ensure that commercial courseware is aligned with the product specification and the agreed instructional design principles
  • Act as the contact point between PeopleCert and the courseware development company
  • Provide support, where needed, for delivery of digital content including, but not limited: to editing, proofreading, and uploading digital content to agreed schedules, budgets, and quality
  • Apply editorial standards rigorously across all PeopleCert products. Monitor and report to ensure that projects are delivered to the agreed deadline and to the highest standards

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a similar field
  • Experience in an editorial or production editorial role in publishing
  • Exceptional copyediting and proofreading skills
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems (LMS) & Content Creation for learning platforms, will be an asset
  • Knowledge of schedule management & ability to manage author relationships
  • Knowledge & understanding of PRINCE2 or ITIL qualifications will be an asset
  • Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advanced level certification is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, and analytical. Decision-making, able to work in a high-volume, complex, and fast-paced publishing pipeline
  • Ability to spot potential issues before they arise and escalate as necessary, and navigate/ negotiate competing demands and priorities from across the business

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.
