Frontend Engineer
Brown Brothers HarrimanAbout the role
At BBH, Partnership is more than a form of ownership—it’s our approach to business and relationships. We know that supporting your professional and personal goals is the best way to help our clients and advance our business. We take that responsibility seriously. With a 200-year legacy and a shared passion for what’s next, this is the right place to build a fulfilling career.
About Us
We are on a mission to rebuild how financial services firms create, manage, and execute their data integrations and transformations. Today that process stretches across multiple teams, tools, and handoffs — slow to build, expensive to maintain, and nearly impossible to change. We collapse it into a single AI-native platform that business users can operate without writing a ticket, while engineering teams retain the governance and security controls they require. We're growing our founding team now.
About the Role
As a Frontend Engineer, you'll own the client-side experience of the platform — the interfaces through which financial services users configure integrations, build and execute transformations, monitor workflows, and review results. Our product's promise is that business users can operate it without writing a ticket. That promise lives or dies in the UI you build.
This is a design-collaborative, full-stack-adjacent role. You'll work directly from Figma, own features from Angular component to Python API endpoint, and build data-dense, enterprise-grade interfaces that financial services users trust. The bar for craft is high — our users are experienced, demanding, and will notice if something is ambiguous or slow.
Angular is our framework. TypeScript is how we think. Python is how we reach the backend when a feature needs it.
Responsibilities
Product Engineering
- Build and maintain Angular-based interfaces for the core product: integration configuration, transformation building, workflow monitoring, execution results, and audit log views
- Own features end-to-end — from Figma file through Angular components, Python API endpoints, and production deployment
- Implement and extend the component library in close coordination with the Head of Design and Product Designer
- Build high-performance data views: filterable tables, real-time execution output streams, transformation diff views, and audit logs
Design Collaboration
- Translate Figma designs into production Angular components with high fidelity — using Figma Dev Mode and design tokens as the contract
- Work directly with the design team during the design process — flag constraints early, prototype in code when needed, push quality forward
- Maintain Storybook as the living documentation for the component library
AI-Specific Frontend
- Implement streaming UI patterns for AI-generated transformation outputs — progressive rendering, token-by-token display, interruption and retry handling
- Build interfaces for AI-suggested transformations — multi-step diff views, accept/reject/edit flows, and inline suggestions
- Design and implement feedback mechanisms that capture user corrections and improve AI quality signals
Quality & Security
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests; maintain confidence through the CI pipeline
- Optimize for Core Web Vitals and application performance — lazy loading, OnPush change detection, virtual scrolling for large datasets
- Apply Angular's built-in security patterns and implement RBAC-aware UI rendering for permission-scoped features
- Build to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards — enterprise customers have compliance requirements
Requirements
Experience
- 4+ years professional frontend engineering
- Has built and shipped features in production SaaS environments
Technical Skills
- Angular — deep proficiency required: components, services, RxJS, reactive forms, lazy loading, standalone components, Angular CDK
- TypeScript — strong TypeScript skills; thinks in types
- Python — comfortable writing backend API endpoints (FastAPI or similar); full feature ownership across the stack
- Figma fluency — Dev Mode, components, design tokens; works directly from design files to production code
- Testing — Jasmine/Jest for unit tests; Cypress or Playwright for integration and E2E
- State management — NgRx, Akita, or comparable reactive state patterns
- Active user of AI coding assistants in daily workflow
Nice to Have
- Streaming UI experience — WebSocket or SSE for real-time data output
- Data visualization — D3.js, Chart.js, or ngx-charts for financial dashboard
