Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking a Member Advocate for their Benefits team in Perrysburg, OH.

This is a part time role that has the potential to be a FULLY REMOTE position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Member Advocates provide services to our clients’ HR Contacts and Plan Participants. The questions received can range from how a benefits plan works to resolving claim issues. This team serves as liaisons between the employee, carrier, and healthcare provider to ensure situations are correctly handled. Outside of this, they work with the Account Managers and Account Executives on all aspects of a client’s ongoing plan operation and service needs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Handle inquiries from members regarding their plan details, claims and other requests.

• Keep Account Manager apprised of any volatile situations.

• Identify trends or deeper issue problems where an error is affecting a group as a whole and quickly communicate these issues with the Account Team

• Identify eligibility and enrollment issues and handoff to the Enrollment Specialist for processing.

• Mediate conversations between the member and carrier or Provider

• Assist Members with completing Open Enrollment elections, Form Fire and Employee Navigator

• Consistently document all interactions in the Agency Management System

• Provider Members with proper carrier contact information and educational pieces when requested.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree and two or more years related experience in Employee Benefits, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Familiarity with benefit and insurance laws, regulations, and tax implications.

• Life & Health Insurance License for the state of Ohio – can be obtained after hire.

• Intermediate computer skills/

• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Browsers
